Privacy Policy
Effective 03 October 2026
This policy explains how AI Voicey ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use the AI Voicey app on Android and iPhone (including the AI Voicey keyboard and floating bubble) and the website https://aivoicey.com. It is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Summary
- Your voice is turned into text on your phone. Audio is never uploaded to our servers.
- Only text you choose to translate or restyle is sent to our server. It is processed in memory and not stored.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
2. Information we collect
- Account: your mobile number, used to sign you in with a one-time password (OTP) and to link your subscription. Signing in is optional; on-device dictation works without an account.
- Sign-in and security records: the device model of each signed-in session, and the mobile number and IP address of OTP requests, used to keep you signed in and to stop abuse (for example, limiting how many codes can be requested).
- Voice: recorded only while you are dictating and converted to text on your phone. Recordings kept so you can recover a dictation stay on your phone, and you can delete them from History.
- Text you choose to translate or restyle: sent to our server over HTTPS, processed in memory and returned. We do not store it or use it to train models.
- Subscription and payment records: plan, status, dates and amount, plus the transaction or subscription IDs from the App Store, Google Play or Razorpay. Card numbers, UPI PINs and bank details are handled by those providers, never by us.
- Usage counts: the number of translations per day, to apply free-plan limits.
- Support messages: what you send us when you contact support.
We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, advertising ID or what you type with other keyboards.
3. Stored only on your phone
Your dictation history, the app each dictation was used in, your personal dictionary, recordings and settings are stored on your device and are not sent to us. Uninstalling the app removes them. The speech recognition model is downloaded once from Hugging Face (huggingface.co), which receives the request like any website does.
4. Microphone
AI Voicey records only while you are dictating: from when you tap the bubble, the keyboard's Start speaking button or the mic in the app, until you finish or cancel.
On iPhone, keyboards are not allowed to use the microphone, so the keyboard opens the AI Voicey app once to start a dictation session. The app then keeps the microphone session open in the background so you can dictate again from the keyboard without reopening the app. The session ends after 10 minutes without dictation, or when you swipe AI Voicey away in the app switcher, and iOS shows its microphone indicator while it is open. Between dictations, audio is not recorded or kept.
5. Android: floating bubble (Accessibility Service)
On Android, AI Voicey uses the Accessibility Service API only to:
- detect when you tap into a text field, so it can show the floating mic bubble;
- note the name of the app you are dictating into, saved with that dictation in your on-phone History;
- insert the text you approve into that field. To place it at the cursor, it reads the text already in that one field at that moment.
All of this happens on your phone. The Accessibility Service does not collect, store or send the content of your screen or of other apps to us or anyone else. You can turn it off at any time in Android Settings → Accessibility.
6. iPhone: AI Voicey keyboard and Full Access
On iPhone, AI Voicey works as a keyboard. "Allow Full Access" lets the keyboard share your dictation with the AI Voicey app on the same iPhone (which records and transcribes it) and send the text you choose to translate or restyle to our server. The keyboard does not record or send anything you type with other keyboards, and it does not send your keystrokes anywhere.
7. How we use information
To provide and secure the service, manage subscriptions, apply plan limits, respond to support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
8. Who we share it with
- Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play), when you subscribe through them, under their own privacy policies.
- Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd., when you pay through Razorpay. Razorpay may collect device and payment information for payment security under its own policy.
- 2Factor.in, which delivers sign-in codes by SMS and receives your mobile number for that purpose.
- Our hosting providers, who run our servers for us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
9. Retention
Account, session and usage records are kept while your account is active. Sign-in security records are kept only as long as needed for security and abuse prevention. Payment and invoice records are kept for 8 years as required by Indian tax law, unlinked from you if you delete your account.
10. Your rights and account deletion
You can access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by writing to us. Delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or at https://aivoicey.com/delete-account. Deletion removes your account immediately and stops Razorpay autopay. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play must also be cancelled in your Apple or Google account settings.
11. Children
AI Voicey is meant for people aged 18 and over. Anyone younger may use it only with a parent's or guardian's consent. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to our systems is restricted and passwords are stored hashed.
13. Grievance officer
AI Voicey. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
14. Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
